Ken Lauder

Ken is a Legal Director in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team and a Solicitor Advocate. He specialises in high-value personal injury claims, medical negligence claims and other professional negligence claims but he is also instructed in types of litigation.

With over thirty years’ experience in litigation, Ken is highly regarded within the profession. In addition to his own cases, he assists other solicitors throughout Scotland with actions in the Court of Session.

Many of Ken’s cases involve acting for people who have been affected by life-changing incidents and he places a lot of importance on providing clients with good support through the litigation process and often beyond. With a reputation for compassion and discretion, Ken is sought out by other solicitors for introductions to long-standing clients who have claims. Ken has consistently obtained good outcomes for clients for many years.

The confidence clients place in Ken is further illustrated by the fact that he is routinely asked to be involved in trusts set up to manage damages, usually for the benefit of vulnerable individuals not able to do this for themselves.

As part of his wider professional negligence practice, Ken is a member of the Pursuers’ Panel of the Law Society of Scotland, which is a panel of solicitors selected to assist members of the public with advice about negligence claims against solicitors.

In his previous firm Ken acted as Client Relations Manager for many years and he has a keen understanding of client expectations. He is also a member of the Insurance Committee of the Law Society of Scotland, which is concerned with professional indemnity insurance for solicitors in private practice in Scotland.
