We are one of the few truly international sports legal teams based in Scotland, and our sports team has the expertise and specialist knowledge to work across the whole spectrum of sports law.

As well as traditional litigation through the courts, we have advised and represented clients in Football Association (FA) Rule K Arbitrations and in ground breaking cases before FIFA’s Football Tribunal and the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. A member of our team also sits as a Legal Member for Sport Resolutions, a dispute resolution service operating globally, and hears disputes arising out of a number of major sporting events including the Olympics and Commonwealth Games.

Closer to home, members of our team sit as judicial panel members for the FA as well as the Scottish Football Association, and are involved in a wide range of high profile cases involving players, agents, clubs and coaches.

On non-contentious matters, we are often sought out by a wide range of stakeholders to discuss the best approach to acquisitions and interactions with governing bodies. Our sports commercial team is able to guide you through the complex and innovative world of sponsorship and partnership agreements, kit supply, Esports, image rights, event staging and ticketing arrangments, merchandising and naming rights. The same is true for other sports – rugby, cricket and golf – where we can offer practical legal advice for all commercial agreements.

We also advise on sports immigration matters, including applications for sponsor licences and application for Governing Body Endorsements (GBE) under the points-based system from the approved governing bodies in various sports.
