Richard Smith

Richard graduated as a Bachelor of Engineering with honours in 2013 and has been customer facing since 2014, having held technical sales roles for high-tech engineering companies in both the Subsea and Metallurgy industries.

    Expertise

At the start of 2019, Richard decided to pursue a more intimate and individual client serving career within the role of personal financial planning. With over half a decade's experience of client service and relationship management, Richard knows that the basis of any long-term relationship is trust, reliability with a friendly and professional service.

Having been awarded the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in October 2020, Richard has found a speciality in working with the self-employed and small business owners as well as family financial planning. Richard delivers a professional yet relaxed service by taking the time to get to know his clients, understanding their situation and their goals.

Immediately prior to joining Gilson Gray Financial Management, Richard studied for and was awarded the Level 3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice in June 2021. To develop his skills and expertise, Richard looks forward to beginning his journey to chartership in 2022.

Outside of work he enjoys keeping fit, exploring new places to eat around Glasgow and, most recently, getting back into the swing of golf.
