Gilson Gray to Compete in ‘Survival’ Challenge for Charity

An intrepid team from Gilson Gray will take part in ‘Survival on the Seat’, which sees teams compete in a set of outdoor tasks on Arthur’s Seat.

The challenges themselves are being kept under wraps by organisers, the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC), who will use all money raised to transform the lives of young people in hospital.

The group of four from Gilson Gray, dubbed ‘The Salisbury Craggers’, will compete against other businesses in 10 survival skills challenges to try and take home the ‘Survival on the Seat’ trophy.

Vanessa Kennedy, Marketing Director at Gilson Gray, said: “We’re extremely proud of our charity partnership with ECHC, so when we heard about this challenge, we jumped at the chance to get involved.

“At Gilson Gray, we like to challenge ourselves by thinking outside of the box, so when this slightly unusual charity event came up, it was the perfect fit.

“Our Salisbury Craggers team consists of Emma, Rachael, Jonny and Iain. They are all passionate about our charity work and are looking forward to raising as much

money as possible for a great cause – and hopefully lifting the trophy at the end of the challenges.”

Iain Grant, Solicitor at Gilson Gray, said: “The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity is very close to me and my family.

“My youngest son Jack has been in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children several times over the last couple of years and we’ve seen first-hand the great work of the charity.

“Not only have they helped to bring some fun to Jack’s time in hospital, the Drop in Centre which they provide, played a role in keeping my wife and I sane during some really stressful times.”

Survival on the Seat takes place in Holyrood Park on Thursday, April 19, from 10am to 3pm.

Amy Ford, Senior Partnerships Fundraiser at ECHC, said: “We’re delighted that Gilson Gray is taking on our Survival on the Seat challenge as part of their support for ECHC this year.

“They have always been willing to help out wherever they can with raising awareness and funds for our charity.

“Survival on the Seat will be a really fun way for the teams to raise lots of money which will go towards helping young people in hospital be a child first and a patient second.

“We can’t wait to see all the teams test their survival skills and are so thankful to firms like Gilson Gray who are supporting the event.”
