Sheriff Courts Showing Signs of Life

Sheriff Courts Showing Signs of Life

Welcome news yesterday that plans are being put in place for Courts and Tribunal Buildings to reopen as part of the Governments’ phased Covid-19 Exit Plan.  Importantly, 5 new “hub” Sheriff Courts are being created to deal with current business. Also, other non-hub Courts are opening with restricted staff to deal with the significant backlog issues that they will face.

I have been saying for many weeks now that when the Courts spring back to life they are going to be facing horrendous backlogs. It seems the Scottish Court Service now appreciate that and are taking some small steps to address that at this time.

So this is positive news. The Courts are coming back to life. Now is the time to get in front of that queue.  Now is the time to instruct our Debt Recovery Department to recover sums rightfully due to your business.
