While for consumers it’s more common to shop around yourself for your energy supplier, around 70% of UK businesses choose to use an energy broker. In using a broker they put their trust in them to find their organisation the best deal possible, but following an OFGEM investigation into “unscrupulous UK energy broker practices” 90% of these businesses have been unknowingly paying more than they should have been on their energy bills. These businesses include charities, non-profits, and care homes where costs are ultimately passed on to donors and service users. Sounds unfair? We think so too.
