Findlay is a financial adviser at Gilson Gray Financial Management. Since joining in May 2023, he enjoys advising clients on a plethora of advice areas but spends most of his time dealing with investments, retirement planning, and protection.
Findlay graduated from the University of St Andrews where he studied Management. This gave him exposure to topics including finance and economics. Upon graduating, he worked as part of the finance team at one of Scotland’s largest restaurant chains, where he gained an understanding of cash management and business finance.
Subsequently, he took on a role with a global ‘Top 10’ accounting firm. This solidified his knowledge of finance and its associated skillset. It was there that he was responsible for auditing the financial accounts of some FTSE listed companies, ensuring that they complied with national and international accounting regulations.
Whilst imbuing Findlay with a strong technical skillset, he joined GGFM as he felt that he would be better fulfilled working with individuals. Findlay was drawn to becoming a financial adviser precisely because of the meaningful impact he could have on his clients in reaching their financial goals.
Findlay is now fully qualified and on track to have a successful career as an adviser, focusing on holistic financial planning and delivering quality service to his clients. His hope is that, because of his young age, he will be able to develop meaningful long-term relationships with clients that could potentially last a lifetime.
