My Journey to Becoming a Paralegal

Embracing Opportunities and Overcoming Challenges at Gilson Gray

I am incredibly grateful for the support from my colleagues at Gilson Gray, which has allowed me to pursue my long-held dream of becoming a qualified Paralegal by starting a paralegal qualification in February 2024.

This is a path I have always aspired to undertake since joining Gilson Gray at the start of 2020. Since then, I have been inspired by the high quality and interesting work that my colleagues do on a daily basis, and Gilson Gray has been incredibly supportive while I pursue my dream of becoming a qualified Paralegal.

The experience of returning to education and continuing my career and professional development was quite a thought, but it has fundamentally assisted me, both personally and in my work environment. I have received positive feedback from my colleagues for my achievements so far in the paralegal qualification. I have passed 10 out of 10 assignments with the training provider Scotia Law Training and further succeeded in 2 out of 2 observations with the managing director at Scotia Law Training. This was challenging because the observations involved explaining my answers for certain assignments, which can be difficult due to the amount of previous work required for that unit. Furthermore, providing evidence involved a lot of prior studying. I am, however, delighted to say that I rose to the challenge and have completed 50% of the qualification.

It’s very exciting to be at the start of this journey, and I am sincerely grateful to all my colleagues for their support and assistance over the last few months. It is the support of Gilson Gray that has enabled my current success and future aspirations.
