A team from local legal and property experts Gilson Gray played their part in cleaning up East Lothian’s beaches at the weekend.
Led by partner Dorothy Kellas and her cavapoo Mylo (pictured) staff and family members lent their support to the Big Beach Clean by removing bags of litter from the beach at North Berwick.
Gilson Gray offered to sponsor the initiative, organised by Caledonian Horticulture and other local businesses, because the firm is a strong supporter of environmental best practice.
Dorohy Kellas, partner, said, “The East Lothian community is very close to our hearts and we wanted to do something practical over and above our sponsorship of the event – so we got our team of Gilson Gray volunteers together. Everyone felt a real sense of accomplishment when we realised how much litter had been collected. We would like to congratulate the organisers and everyone else who turned up to help clean up our beautiful coastline.”
She continued, “We have already earned ‘Green Tick’ accreditation for our efforts to be more sustainable, and supporting the Big Beach Clean seemed like a natural extension of our commitment to the environment. I understand we are the only law firm to have done so throughout East Lothian.”
Tommy Dale, founder of Caledonian Horticulture, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted that so many people turned out in force this weekend to support the Big Beach Clean to help make our local coastline litter-free. It has been inspiring to see so many people passionate about protecting the environment, and we’d like to thank our sponsors Gilson Gray for making this event possible.”
Gilson Gray offers a full suite of legal services from its offices in Westgate in North Berwick.
