Gilson Gray, one of Scotland’s most prominent law firms, has celebrated double award success at the country’s most prestigious legal ceremony.
Iain Grant was awarded Junior Lawyer of the Year while the firm received a commendation in the Litigation Team of the Year category at the 2017 Law Awards of Scotland held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
The awards recognise exceptional levels of service and advice received by clients accessing the Scottish judicial system.
Despite only qualifying as a solicitor in 2015, Iain’s hunger and passion has enabled him to rapidly progress to a level far beyond his years and he runs Gilson Gray’s licensing practice, which he himself founded.
Iain said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised for the hard work myself and my colleagues put in every day at Gilson Gray.
“I’m proud to have won the award which I believe reflects our constant drive to challenge convention and to seek new ways of working to improve the service we give to our clients.
“It’s always key to take a caring yet imaginative approach to your clients, but we also want to forge relationships that will last a lifetime.”
Since its launch in 2014, Gilson Gray has risen rapidly to become one of Scotland’s leading law firms, with practices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The firm provides a full range of legal services, from house buying through to providing expertise for corporations or individuals.
Managing Partner, Glen Gilson, said: “We’re extremely proud of Iain’s well deserved achievement and it istestament to his hard work and dedication.
“It was also fantastic to receive a commendation for Litigation Team of the Year which recognises the talented and determined team we see in action every day.”
“Our aim is to be the best law firm in Scotland. We know that to achieve this goal we must attract and develop the best talent, both in terms of those starting out and more experienced professionals looking to showcase their skills in a new progressive environment. Our numerous awards since launch, won by people like Iain, won by various teams across the business, and indeed won on a firm wide level relating to customer service, justify this focus.”
Graham Matthews, president of the Law Society of Scotland, said: “We were delighted to see such strong competition for the awards this year and all of the winners deserve hearty congratulations for their achievements.
“The awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the breadth of talent in the Scottish legal profession and for us to recognise excellence in international law firms.”
