Less than a year after opening our Tayside office, the firm is continuing its record of securing the best talent in the marketplace by recruiting a senior paralegal and two solicitors in response to burgeoning demand in the city.

Headed up by renowned Dundonian legal stalwart Lindsay Darroch, the South Tay Street office will welcome solicitors Kasia Thomson and Karin Bousie, in addition to Senior Paralegal, Nyona Nicol, to the expanding team.

The new hires reaffirm our commitment to and future ambitions for our Dundee office, which is our sixth full-service office in the country, all contributing to our mission to be regarded as the best law firm in Scotland.

Speaking of the latest recruitment drive, Lindsay Darroch, Partner and Head of Dundee Office, who has 28 years’ experience of working in the city’s legal industry, commented: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Gilson Gray’s Dundee office. We have not even been operating in the city for a year, yet we have already seen phenomenal growth as we fully establish a name for ourselves here.

“Our three latest recruits are all of a very high calibre and really exemplify Gilson Gray’s ethos with their proactive, hungry and ambitious approaches to their career. All of the new hires are incredibly talented and adept in each of their specialisms and will be great additions to the office as we continue, full steam ahead with our bold growth strategy in 2021 and beyond.”

Despite the challenges of Covid-19 in 2020, our office hit the ground running in the city by quickly adapting working practices with a fast, forward thinking, innovative approach, meaning that our staff were equipped with the best technology, enabling them to safely work from home to support the rise in demand the firm experienced throughout the year.

Talking about what attracted her to the role at Gilson Gray, Solicitor, Kasia Thomson who studied at the University of Dundee, commented: “I recall very clearly attending a talk by Managing Partner, Glen Gilson and was instantly impressed to hear what the young, dynamic firm has achieved, especially knowing that they were the largest new start full-service law firm in Scottish history. I’m really proud to be able to say I now work for Gilson Gray and look forward to what the future holds for the firm.”

Senior Paralegal, Nyona Nicol, added: “Having worked with Lindsay Darroch previously, I know he is passionate about creating the best legal services possible for Dundee. His drive, matched with the ambitions of Gilson Gray, made the move to the firm a natural one.”

With a rapidly growing urban population and a rejuvenated business sector the Gilson Gray Dundee team has high hopes for the future of the city.

Speaking of her appointment, Dundee native and Solicitor Karin Bousie who specialises in private client work and conveyancing, said: “It’s a real career-making opportunity to be part of a newly established office in a city that has transformed itself over the last few years through its exciting regeneration programme. There’s a lot going on, which has a knock-on impact to the property market in particular so it’s great to be right at the legal heart of it all.”
