Morisons head of litigation Alex Garioch has joined Gilson Gray, bringing with him Morisons entire commercial dispute resolution team.
New Scottish law firm Gilson Gray has taken the entire commercial dispute resolution team of Morisons Solicitors.
The firm, which claimed to be the largest full service law firm launch in Scottish legal history last year, has recruited Morisons head of litigation Alex Garioch, a Solicitor Advocate who specialises in contentious construction disputes as well as commercial dispute resolution.
Garioch has brought the Morisons commercial dispute resolution team with him to Gilson Gray.
Also joining from Morisons is Rosie Walker, a partner and specialist in commercial litigation who recently acted for Alistair Carmichael MP in Scotland’s first Election Trial for 50 years.
Iain K Clark, head of litigation and dispute resolution at Gilson Gray, said: “We are delighted to attract top lawyers such as Rosie and Alex to our expanding Litigation & Dispute Resolution Team.
“Their breadth and depth of experience compliments the services we provide to our existing clients and affords us the opportunity to become the ‘go to’ team in Scotland for complex litigation and dispute resolution.”
Also joining Gilson Gray from Morisons is Keith Anderson, who joins its insolvency team as an associate.
Anderson is reported to have had a number of high profile instructions, notably as lead solicitor to BDO prior to, and during, the successful 12 month administration of Heart of Midlothian football club.
He is also reported to have had a spell on secondment as in-house legal counsel for Rangers International Football Club Plc.
