Gilson Gray Appoint Craig Darling as Head of Business Restructuring & Recovery

Gilson Gray launched in May 2014 as the largest new launch full service law firm in Scottish history.

With offices in Edinburgh (29 Rutland Square) and Glasgow (160 West George Street), the firm offers specialist legal, property and financial services.  Since launch Gilson Gray have developed a significant market presence with numerous appointments across both office locations.  In addition, Gilson Gray recently acquired two financial advisory businesses in the East and West of Scotland, taking assets under management to a little short of £100M.

Continuing this development, effective 1st September 2014, Craig Darling has been appointed as Head of Business Restructuring & Recovery.  Formerly of HBJ Gateley and Maclays, Craig was previously at Dundas and Wilson where he was responsible for developing the Restructuring and Insolvency team in the City.  Craig is a specialist with an unquestionable track record in his sector. Craig has regularly acted for the UK’s largest banking institutions and insolvency practitioners both North and South of the border.  He specialises in corporate restructurings, refinancings and turnaround, administrations, receiverships and fixed charge receiverships. He is also an experienced corporate lawyer having represented a wide breadth of corporates over his two decades in practice in leading UK firms.

Based in Gilson Gray’s Glasgow office, Craig will work closely with the firm’s Corporate and Insolvency teams (headed respectively by Derek Hamill, formerly of Young and Partners, and Steven Jansch, formerly Head of Insolvency at Gillespie Macandrew) to offer a significant Corporate Insolvency capability to the Scottish market.
