A different approach to meeting contacts

A different approach to meeting contacts

Getting away from Zoom meetings

With the rise of online meetings, it’s important to us as a firm that we look for new ways to engage with our clients and contacts outside of online meetings which although have been essential this last year after a while can become tiresome. Getting away from the screen, home offices and meeting with likeminded people to destress and build relationships whilst also getting some fresh air seemed like a win-win scenario for our Oil & Gas Partner Calum Crighton.

A different approach

Calum took a different approach to the typical zoom meeting and decided to organise a hill walk to Tarland where he and a versatile group including Chris West of Optimus Aberdeen, Andrew Mitchinson of Assured Process Management, Thor Holt and not forgetting two very well behaved dogs!

We actively encourage wellbeing within the firm as part of our culture especially given the monumental effect the past year has had on everyone. It is important to us to look for ways to engage and build relationships away from our screens to forge strong connections. Here’s what Calum had to say about the walk:

“We climbed Pressendye, which has amazing views over the neighbouring hills and mountains, had an afternoon of great exercise, and best of all, and had a good laugh whilst strengthening or making new connections.”

The plan is to do another walk on 22nd July, This time hopefully with a larger group with restrictions relaxing to allow a group of 15 to meet by July. Other Partners in the firm including John Fulton and Murray Stewart are planning a similar outdoor meeting with their contacts at Ben Lomand.
