With 13 years specialist experience, Sally Nash’s appointment further positions Gilson Gray as the emerging market leaders in family legal expertise.
Nash began her legal career at Maclay Murray & Spens before qualifying with Turcan Connell where she has been since 2004.
Nash joins Philippa Cunniff – the firm’s Head of Family Law and a former colleague at Turcan Connell – in building the core of the firm’s latest division
Joining as a Senior Associate, Sally said: “I am delighted to be coming on board with Gilson Gray.
“This young firm has already achieved a phenomenal amount in a short time period. Gilson Gray’s ambition and its ethos, both in terms of quality of service and culture, are aspects I am incredibly excited to be involved with.”
“I’m particularly looking forward to rekindling the excellent working relationship Philippa and I have previously enjoyed, and being part of, and further building, a top family law offering at Gilson Gray.
Philippa Cunniff, Head of Family Law at Gilson Gray, said: “Having moved to Gilson Gray with the specific remit of building the best family law team in Scotland, I’m delighted to have Sally on board to assist in achieving that goal. To attract someone of Sally’s calibre to the firm at the outset of establishing our family law practice says a lot about our ability to attract the best talent in the market
Glen Gilson, Managing Partner at Gilson Gray, said: “Our ambition is to be the best law firm in Scotland.
“In Sally we have a talent that any firm would be delighted to call part of their team. Her appointment demonstrates our commitment to providing market leading capabilities.
“We now have two of the top family law practitioners in the country, in line with our overarching ambitions for the business”
This appointment also follows the firm’s recent 5000 square foot expansion of its Rutland Square offices.
In 2014, Gilson Gray opened as the largest full service law firm launch in Scottish legal history, with a portfolio of talent poached from the leading firms in Scotland – opening simultaneously in Glasgow (160 West George Street) and Edinburgh (29 Rutland Square) with a radical client-focused strategy that offers a cost effective alternative to the top ten firms in the country.
The firm also recently landed six awards at the ACQ5 legal awards – the third year in a row that Gilson Gray has seen success – including Law Firm of the Year, Managing Partner of the Year and Insolvency Lawyer of the Year, all for the second time in three years.
The Firm was also recently recognised as Best New Scottish Company, M&A Firm of the Year for the second year running and, crucially, Customer Focus Firm of the Year.
